A man who found a message in a bottle filled with sweets by a four-year-old girl has managed to track her down – so he can get her permission to eat them.
Nicolas Valentin spotted the unusual item, which contained a handwritten note and a selection of treats, floating in the water while out on a fishing trip.
The note said it had been launched by a little girl called Kacey who hoped the finder would “love everything inside the bottle”.
Nicolas, 53, found the bottle near the coastal village of Rhu on the east shore of the Gare Loch in Argyll and Bute, Scotland.
But with little information other than the girl’s first name and hometown, Nicolas posted a public appeal with an image of the find on social media.
