Ross County forward Brian Graham is determined to help fire his side back to winning ways when the Staggies travel to Motherwell this weekend.

County were defeated 3-2 by Aberdeen on Sunday, despite the Dons being reduced to 10 men in the first half when defender Mark Reynolds was sent off.

It meant the Dingwall outfit failed to capitalise on St Johnstone’s 0-0 draw against Hamilton Accies the previous day, with Jim McIntyre’s side passing up the opportunity to move fourth in the Premiership.

Saturday’s match against the Steelmen presents County with another chance to climb the table ahead of their League Cup semi-final against Celtic the following week.

Graham is targeting a return to form and he said: “Aberdeen came out of the blocks really quickly but after we weathered that storm we were really dominant and we should have had a penalty.

“We went 1-0 up then to concede two quick goals like that was really disappointing. To go in at the break 2-1 down was a kick in the teeth.

“Everyone in the dressing-room was deflated and disappointed but we have to take positives from it. We have two big games coming up, Motherwell on Saturday then the League Cup semi-final against Celtic. We have to lift ourselves for it.

“There’s no point dwelling on what happened on Sunday. It was disappointing, we could have moved to fourth place at the weekend and we are annoyed at that but we go now to Fir Park and hope to get the result there.

“We go into every game with confidence. That was a great Aberdeen team we played against on Sunday but we came out fighting. We know we can beat these teams and that’s a big positive for us and we will go again on Saturday.”

Graham has been handed his chance in recent weeks due to the injury absence of 24-goal attacking partnership of Liam Boyce and Craig Curran, with the former Dundee United player deployed up front alongside Dutchman Alex Schalk.

Graham is aiming to keep his place in the side and the 28-year-old added: “It doesn’t matter which of us is playing – the four forwards are more than capable of playing in this team. After getting up to speed against Dunfermline, I felt I’ve done well in the past two games.

“It’s up to me to stay in the team and that’s what I aim to do.”
