The production has been devised by producer Bill Kenwright’s Classic Screen to Stage Theatre Company, and follows its adaptations of Hollywood films The Shawshank Redemption and Twelve Angry Men.

A previous stage adaptation of the film, featuring Men Behaving Badly actor Neil Morrissey as Raymond and Green Wing star Oliver Chris as Charlie, toured the UK in 2009.
