Whisky lovers are raising a glass to a new Christmas ad filmed by The Famous Grouse – but a makeover to brand’s iconic mascot could ruffle a few feathers.
The popular bird has had a complete makeover for the new animated festive campaign, featuring two new videos.
The first ad Perfectly Balanced, released earlier this month, travels through the epic Scottish Highlands to reveal the Grouse at the top of a mountain range.
The second advert, aired this week, shows a stunning snow-peaked Scottish vista before pulling out to reveal the Grouse calmly spinning on a curling stone on a frozen lake.
To create the cinematic photoreal landscape Jon Neill and some the team shot drone footage in Glen Coe which allowed real life textures to be applied to the CG world.
Jon said: “It was a satisfying project to work on as we were able to source reference and texture material right on our doorstep and also a privilege to work with a team who were willing and capable to try new challenges both creatively and technically.”
The campaign will also feature in 3,000 bus shelters across key cities.
