A popular north-east country park will host an evening of classical and folk music for soprano and clarinet this weekend.
The Turning the Elements event will include musical performances – inspired by Robert Burns’ poetry – from local artist Joanna Nicholson and her musical partner Frances Cooper
Other pieces on the programme include six songs from children of the Holocaust and music by Joseph Haydn.
The Music at Aden event has been organised by the Friends of Aden volunteer group and will include a backdrop of nature photography.
Last year, the Aberdeen Sinfonietta Vivaldi Ensemble visited the venue to perform a series of sonatas by Vivaldi, Tartini and Perfolesi.
The hope is that local residents will have easy access to classical, jazz and folk music at the Aden Theatre.
Volunteer Ruth Smith said: “This is an inspirational blend, offering the comfort of the familiarity of the old and the stimulus of the new.
“This is an exciting opportunity to hear locally-based and innovative musician clarinettist, Joanna Nicholson, along with her renowned co-performer and soprano, Frances Cooper.”
She added that the line-up for the event was an “irresistible combination”.
The concert will take place at Aden Country Park on Sunday, May 7 from 7pm.

Tickets are priced adults £15, concessions £12, children £6.
