Now that the hustle and bustle of Christmas is behind us, many of us are dreaming of jetting off to somewhere hot to recharge the batteries after the busy festive season.

What could be better than spending a week or two on a sun kissed beach during the bleak winter months of gloomy British weather.

We have some great destinations lined up for 2016 to inspire your holiday plans and decision-making but we thought you’d like the idea of a Caribbean experience for the New Year.

The Caribbean
The Caribbean

Seen by some as the ultimate holiday escape, The Caribbean is a cluster of paradise islands and coasts in the Caribbean Sea. The islands boast a wealth of historic harbours, lush tropical forests, sugar white sands and crystal clear waters.

The region is blessed with dependable weather and each island has its own character and culture. Rich in natural beauty with a chilled vibe, it is little wonder that visitors continue to flock here for an idyllic holiday experience.

The perfect destination for relaxing in a friendly location.

Hotly-tipped as a popular choice for 2016 are The British Virgin Islands (BVI), a British overseas territory located in the Caribbean to the east of Puerto Rico and make up part of the Virgin Islands archipelago.

Commonly and affectionately known as the BVIs, these islands are home to some of the Caribbean’s most exclusive properties and the scattering of idyllic shores are the epitome of tropical island escapes.

The BVIs are a treasure trove of soft, sandy beaches, coral reefs and turquoise waters, famous for their dive sites and shipwrecks.  The BVIs are also great for water sports and some of the finest sailing and diving opportunities can be found here.

Or, a more familiar location for a sunshine getaway is the Dominican Republic. Just two hours south of Miami, here you can experience a warm welcome from the island’s hospitable locals. It really is a paradise playground of top beaches and colourful luxury resorts and hotels.
