A man was caught with a suitcase containing thousands of pounds worth of cannabis at Aberdeen’s main bus station.
Stephen Kirby appeared at the city’s sheriff court yesterday and admitted carrying over 850 grammes of the Class B drug, estimated to be worth up to £14,000.
Fiscal Gavin Letford said police acted on intelligence to search the 23-year-old’s luggage at Union Square station after he got off a bus from London on January 21 last year.
Representing Kirby, solicitor Charles Benzies said his client was currently serving a sentence in England.
Sheriff William Summers said the offence was “a very serious matter.”
Kirby, of Saxonia Road in Liverpool, was remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced next month.
