Green fingered folk in the north-east are being encouraged to save up their seeds for a gardening festival.
Seedy Sunday, a gardening, food and drink event, will take place in Aden Country Park in March.
Keen gardeners have been told to collect unwanted seeds and take them along to the park to swap packets with other local residents. They can also share growing tips and ideas on the day.
Leona Findlay, development worker at Buchan Development Partnership said: “Seedy Sunday was designed to provide an opportunity for like-minded people to come together to swap their surplus plants and seeds ahead of the 2019 growing season.
“It is an extremely popular event both with food lovers and keen gardeners.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for gardeners of all abilities to share tips and advice as well as surplus seeds.
“We have a packed programme planned for the day featuring cookery demonstrations, tours and talks on a wealth of topics.”
Seed packets are available from the Aden craft and gift shop, Buchan Tools, the partnership and the Aden Allotment Association.
The event will be held on March 17 in the polytunnels at Aden Country Park.
