A group of volunteers who dedicate their spare time to feeding Aberdeen’s vulnerable people are organising a sleep-out to raise vital funds for the services they provide.
Helpers of Street Friends Helping the Homeless will be sleeping rough on Union Street to raise money for more than 80 people whom it supports every night.
The group receives donations from local shops and individuals and is now raising money to enable them to continue feeding Aberdeen’s most vulnerable folk four nights a week.
All the money will go directly to buying new carts, tables, pots, flasks and sleeping bags.
The funds will also help cover “hidden costs” that goes into the operation such as plates, cups and washing up liquid.
The group has grown from helping 20 people every night to about 70 to 80 people.
Volunteers will be sleeping rough on November 30 from 8pm on.
