An Aberdeen cinema is launching a new project for audiences aged 60 and up and inviting them to come together to enjoy contemporary films and a cup of tea.
The independent Belmont Filmhouse will stage both classic and new films for its Senior Selections programme.
Films will be shown monthly and will be selected by a team of volunteers, giving everyone the opportunity to suggest films that they would like to see.
Where possible, films will be shown with onscreen captions or subtitles and the team are working to ensure the screenings will be as accessible as possible for audiences who are D/deaf and hard-of-hearing.
Film lovers can look forward to a first screening, Cinema Paradiso, on February 5 at 11.15am, with the event then following on the first Wednesday of every month.
Tickets cost £4 each, which includes tea, coffee and biscuits after the film.
Senior Selections has been running successfully at Belmont’s sister cinema, Edinburgh Filmhouse, for over two years.
