Police in Aberdeen are carrying out additional patrols after a 10-year-old girl was spotted being spoken to by a motorist.
The event, which is reported to have taken place on Bedford Road at around 8.20am on Tuesday, March 22, involved a male driver.
Although inquiries are still ongoing into the circumstances of the conversation, officers are attempting to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.
The police are particularly interested in tracing a potential witness who was seen driving a small black car in the area at the time.
Local policing inspector Jim Hume said: “We are currently carrying out inquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding this conversation, and I would urge anyone with information to contact us, whether it be the motorist himself or someone who was in the area at the time.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to reasssure people that incidents of this nature are extremely rare in our communities, and this appears to have been an isolated incident.
“In saying this, additional patrols are being carried out within the area as a precaution.”
