Phones and computers at NHS Grampian sites including Aberdeen Royal Infirmary were down for more than three hours this morning, but bosses insist it was not a repeat of the hacking scandal.
Upgrades to software were due to be carried out this morning from 7.30am at the city’s main hospital, but it took longer than expected and disrupted the systems across the region.
All systems were back up and running as normal by 10.45am.
A hospital spokeswoman moved to allay fears that the trust was victim of another malicious attack.
She said: “We had some planned IT work at our Foresterhill site. It ended up taking longer than expected.
“It’s had a knock on effect on the phones and some were struggling to access files on their PCs.
“There is no suggestion to believe that we are under attack. There is no repeat of the cyber hacking.”
