A man was cut from his car and taken to hospital tonight after a crash on an Aberdeenshire road.
The incident took place on the A981 Strichen to New Deer road at about 6pm, and the driver of the Peugeot 207 vehicle involved suffered a chest injury which was not thought to be life-threatening.
A police spokeswoman confirmed that the man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment at about 7.10pm after being released from his car by firefighters.
She added that the collision did not appear to have caused much disruption for other road users.
A spokesman for the fire service added that crews from Fraserburgh and Maud attended and and spent about 25 minutes using hydraulic rescue equipment including a saw to slice the Peugeot apart and safely retrieve the wounded motorist.
