Aberdeenshire Council has removed the appointment-only booking requirement for its service points in Inverurie and Peterhead.
Last week, the authority reopened the doors of Gordon House in Inverurie and Buchan House in Peterhead, initially with 15-minute booking slots mandatory and a two-visitor limit at all times.
But now, the need to book a slot has been lifted, and anyone wishing to visit for payments, validation of documents or other inquiries can attend whenever they please.
Michelle Milne, customer services manager for Aberdeenshire Council, said: “There is still a requirement to control the number of people entering service points in line with government health guidance.
“However, after careful monitoring, we are satisfied we can now remove the need to book an appointment and ask customers to adhere to two customers only in a service point at any given time.
“While we only have Inverurie and Peterhead open at the moment, we fully expect to open more locations in the coming weeks and I would once again like to thank all our customers for their patience over the past few months.”
Visitors are still asked to wait at the door before being signalled into the building, wear a mask, and follow all floor markings, signs and instructions during the visit.
