One of the UK’s leading property consultancies, Bidwells, held an evening seminar at Aberdeen’s Maritime Museum recently to explore emerging investment trends in the north-east.

The 175-year-old firm, which provides services to clients in the commercial, rural, forestry and residential property markets, opened its fourth Scottish office in Aberdeen earlier this year. The firm also has an extensive renewable energy business, having been professionally involved in the majority of Scotland’s large scale onshore wind farms over the past 20 years.

Guests had the opportunity to hear from Bidwells’ experts in commercial property, renewable energy and forestry and from Keith Young, engineering director at Aberdeen Harbour Board, on the trends investors can expect to see over the next 12 months.

Andrew Robertson, partner at the new office who boasts 25 years’ experience in the north-east, said: “We were pleased to be joined by an audience of professionals from across the city and shire to celebrate the opening of our Aberdeen office and discuss some of the exciting opportunities, as well as the challenges, facing investors in the various markets over the coming year.

“While renewable energy projects are facing increased challenges, active commercial property developments and major infrastructure schemes such as the proposed new harbour are underpinning strong investment levels across all property sectors in the north-east.”
