The starting gun has officially been fired on the Aberdeen council election with all the candidates named.
The Labour, Conservative and Independent alliance currently in charge at the town house has just a single extra councillor over the opposition groups.
And a confident SNP, who have based their manifesto around a commitment to building a new bridge over the River Dee, are the only party to have fielded enough candidates for an overall majority.
But the Labour group, currently with 17 councillors, hope to capitalise on a local reputation based on large-scale infrastructure pledges delivered since 2012 and have distanced themselves from both Jeremy Corbyn and Kezia Dugdale by branding themselves “Aberdeen Labour” on the ballots.
The Conservatives, with only two councillors in the city, expect to make large gains at the May election on a pro-Union platform while the Liberal Democrats focus on local services.
A large number of independents are also running, along with members of smaller parties like the National Front, the Greens, Solidarity and the Scottish Libertarian Party.
Polls open on May 4.
