A man killed after being struck by a lorry in Aberdeen was a popular mechanic who was “much loved” by his family.
Allan Brymer had completed his shift at Arnold Clark’s Craigshaw Road premises and was crossing Wellington Road to collect his car when he was fatally struck at about 5pm on Monday.
It is understood the lorry driver did not realise he had hit the 54-year-old, but later pulled over on King Street to speak to police after being told about it.

Collision investigators examined the lorry where the driver stopped late into Monday night.
Last night, Mr Brymer’s heartbroken daughter Laura said he was “much loved by his family”.
And an Arnold Clark spokeswoman also paid tribute, describing him as a “well-respected” employee.
She said: “We are extremely saddened by the sudden passing of one of our employees, Allan Brymer.
“Allan was a well-respected, long-serving member of Arnold Clark and he will be greatly missed.
“Our thoughts are with his family and we have offered them our support during this tragic time.”
Mr Brymer, from Brechin, was struck on the southbound lane of the busy road, near the Lidl supermarket.
One witness said that frantic efforts were made to revive him with CPR before he was taken to hospital.
He was raced to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, but could not be saved.
A stretch of Wellington Road between Girdleness Road and Abbotswell Road was closed for seven hours after the accident.
No one has been charged in relation to the tragedy, and a police spokeswoman last night stressed that inquiries remain at an early stage.
Sergeant Scott Deans, of the road policing department, appealed for any witnesses to help officers determine exactly what happened.
He said: “Our thoughts at this difficult time remain with those involved and their families.
“Our investigations continue and in order to help piece together exactly what happened, I would urge anyone who may have seen the incident itself and who hasn’t yet come forward to contact police on 101.”
