The fashion & textile design course at Gray’s School of Art has been officially awarded British Fashion Council membership.
As a result it is now a member of the prestigious BFC Colleges Council, a membership programme that represents the leading fashion departments in universities and colleges throughout the UK.
Founded in 1993, the organisation offers students and course leaders the opportunity to interact with the industry, gaining invaluable insight and experience in the process.
The fashion and textiles course is now one of only three in Scotland which has been awarded BFC Colleges Council membership.
It means course graduates will benefit from the close association with the country’s foremost fashion institution.
Josie Steed, head of fashion and textile design at Gray’s, said: “This endorsement of Gray’s Fashion Design course by the BFC is highly prestigious and is a recognition of the innovation and exacting industry and employability standards that are central to the ethos of our course.
“We are thrilled to have such a major acknowledgement of our hard work and to be so closely aligned with the UK’s top fashion design courses.”
The fashion and textile design course at Gray’s recently ranked 1st in Scotland for employment after graduation after six months in the Guardian University League Tables 2018.
