Commuters are being asked to avoid part of Aberdeen city centre this morning, with fears that urgent roadworks could cause rush hour gridlock.
Teams from Scottish Water and BT are working to repair a cable fault, partially blocking traffic on Virginia Street, Market Street and Guild Street.
The city council has warned the work “will not be resolved ahead of peak traffic times”.
A spokeswoman said: “Drivers should factor this into their journey times and consider alternative routes.”
