Jack and Isla were the most popular baby names for boys and girls in north and north-east Scotland this year.
Figures from the Scottish Government reveal 91 boys born this year were named Jack, while 80 girls were named Isla.
Young Jack’s topped the table in Aberdeen, Aberdeeshire and the Highlands, with James and John proving popular elsewhere.
Noah was the most popular name in Moray, with 11 babies receiving the biblical epitaph.
For girls, Isla was most popular in Argyll and Bute and Moray – and was only just pipped at the post in Aberdeenshire and the Highlands.
Amelia was the most popular name in Aberdeen and the Western Isles, while Sophie was most popular in the Highlands.
Nationally, the most popular boys name was Jack, while the most popular girls name was Emily.
Muhammed was the chosen name in Glasgow.
Other names chosen across north and north-east Scotland include Logan, Charlie, Daniel Joshua and Alfie.
Girls names include Ava, Jessica, Erin, Skye, Iona and Esme.
