Rickie Fowler celebrates winning the Scottish Open at Gullane in 2015.

It will be a pleasure to welcome golf lovers to the 2016 Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open at the stunning Castle Stuart Golf Links as we return to the Scottish Highlands for the third time in five years.

We are now in our fifth year of supporting this tournament, having committed our support until at least 2020, as we continue to grow the event.

The Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open has fast become one of the most highly regarded events on the European Tour schedule. With a sought after fixture ahead of the Open championship and a rotational policy of visiting the best courses in Scotland, it is a firm favourite with many of the players on both the European and US PGA Tours.

Much like our approach to investment, our commitment to the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open is for the long-term.

As a global company headquartered in Aberdeen we are extremely proud to be involved with this superb Scottish event.

The tournament continues to build on its glowing reputation as the world’s best players travel to the Home of Golf to play a links course ahead of the Open championship and it is great that the Highlands of Scotland are in spotlight once again.

We are looking forward to welcoming back our 2013 champion, Phil Mickelson, whose win at Castle Stuart was instrumental to his success at the Open championship the following week.

The list of Scottish contenders in action includes an Inverness homecoming for in-form Russell Knox as well as Colin Montgomerie, who we were pleased to see qualify for a home Open championship at Royal Troon.

We would like to thank all our partners, including the European Tour and the Scottish Government, who help make this such a special event and, in particular, to those at Castle Stuart Golf Links who have worked hard in preparing such a spectacular golf course.
