A pensioner was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car in a shopping centre car park.
The 81-year-old was at Westhill Shopping Centre in Westhill at around 11.30am today when he collided with a black Audi A3. The car was being driven by a 37-year-old man who was uninjured.
The pensioner was crossing the road at the time of the incident.
As a result of the collision the man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he is currently being treated for life-threatening injuries.
Sergeant Rob Warnock, from the Road Policing Unit, said: “Inquiries into the circumstances of the incident are at an early stage and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the black Audi A3 or the male pedestrian immediately prior to the incident to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
