Police are continuing investigations after a body was discovered in Dyce.
The body was found at around 3.30am on Saturday.
Officers were called to the roundabout connecting Stoneywood Road and Victoria Street, near the Aberdeen Marriott Hotel, following the discovery.
The incident is being treated as unexplained, with train lines between Aberdeen and Dyce closing while emergency services deal with the incident near the railway.
Sections of both roads have been closed while investigations are carried out at the scene.
A forensics team have been seen working in the area with a forensic tent set up near a property.
Officers are also stationed around the roundabout which has been closed off to the public.
A ‘shock’ for the community
There has been a significant emergency services presence in Dyce since the early hours of the morning, with the fire service also called to assist.
A police spokeswoman said: “Around 3.30am on Saturday, September 17, police were called to the roundabout at Stoneywood Road and Victoria Street, Dyce, following the discovery of a body.
“The death is being treated as unexplained, pending further inquiries, which are at an early stage.”
Dyce councillor Avril Mackenzie said: “It’s not only a shock for the community but also for the victim’s family and friends.”
Councillor Neil MacGregor, also from the Dyce, Bucksburn and Danestone ward, added: “The emergency services described the incident as unexplained and their investigation is continuing, but this is a very sad discovery and my thoughts are with this unfortunate person’s loved ones.”
While Victoria Street is closed motorists are being diverted via Riverview Drive, including the Stagecoach 35 service.
Residents are still able to access businesses further along the street via the diversion.
This was confirmed by Erin Melvin, owner of EM Beauty on Victoria Street, who said her business has not been impacted by the police activity today.
She said: “No it hasn’t, people have just followed the diversions and came round.”
