Police are appealing for information after a woman’s handbag was snatched near a busy Aberdeen roundabout.
The incident happened at around 1.50pm yesterday (Wednesday, March 9) in the Haudigan Retail Park area.
The victim, who is in her sixties, was not injured but left shaken.
Police are looking to trace two people in particular, a man and a woman, in connection with the theft who were seen in the area at the time.
The man is described as being of average build and height. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark coloured jacket and a light coloured hat.
The woman is of a larger build, and was wearing a long brown coat with a furry hood, blue trousers and white trainers.
Both are around 30-40 years of age.
Detective Sergeant James Callander said: “After leaving a nearby newsagent, the victim took the steps which lead down into the Haudigan Retail Park. As she neared the entrance to Warehouse Discount Beds she was aware of someone approaching her from behind and grabbing hold of her bag.
“Thankfully she was not injured, however this was an extremely frightening and distressing incident and she was left extremely shaken.
“Such crimes are completely unacceptable and we will follow every line of inquiry until we trace those responsible.
“I’m urging anyone who was in the area at the time and might have seen something, or anyone who knows anything about the incident, to contact police as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or, to remain anonymous, the charity Crimestoppers can be called on 0800 555 111.
