A nine-year-old has toured Scotland to tick off all 200 Oor Wullie statues on the Big Bucket Trail.
Jamie Lytham has travelled more than 1,000 miles to see the statues in Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness and the surrounding areas.
He was accompanied by mum Elaine on the mission, and the pair had a “fantastic time” taking pictures of them all and marking them off the list.
When dad Iain could get time off work, he also joined the pair.
Mrs Lytham, from Mintlaw, said: “I’m originally from Inverness and grew up reading Oor Wullie.
“Jamie now loves him too, and got the annual for his last Christmas.
“So we thought we’d try and collect them all – it was quite exciting for both of us and we were quite determined.”
Jamie’s favourite statue sits in front of the Sir Duncan Rice Library and ws designed by Aberdeenshire artist Fiona Chance.
He said: “My favourite sculpture is Welcoming Wullie, because he’s got the same Oor Wullie book as me.
“The best part about getting all the statues was getting to go to lots of different places.”
Jamie – who attends Mintlaw Primary, who designed their own small sculpture – managed to see all 200 before the end of the holidays.
So far, the Oor Wullie statues have been visited more than one million times since the trail was launched in June.
As of last week, users of the official Bucket Trail app have racked up an incredible 13,000,000 steps, equating to 24,000 miles, with the average person walking 11 miles to complete the trail.
The Bucket Trail runs until Friday, but there will be one final big event before the sculptures are auctioned off to raise money for The Archie Foundation, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity.
During the Oor Wullie’s Big Bucket Trail Farewell Weekend, some of the favourite sculptures will be put in central tourist spots for people to admire all together.
There will be 36 on display at Marischal College Quad in Aberdeen, and 10 at Eastgate Shopping Centre.
Limited tickets are available for the Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail Farewell Weekend next month from the Aberdeen Performing Arts website.
The Inverness event is free. Both take place from September 13-15.
