Terrified 10-year-old ran home to mum after drunken man started ranting about German cars

A terrified 10-year-old ran home to her mum after a drunken man who was ranting about German cars unleashed a torrent of abuse at her.

When the girl’s mother went round to remonstrate with foul-mouthed Mark Morrison, she too was on the receiving end of a verbal berating.

Morrison, 50, even threatened to bomb their house during the bizarre incident, sparked by “posh” cars, specifically those made in Germany, parking in the street.

Fiscal depute Andrew McMann told Aberdeen Sheriff Court the incident happened at 3.10pm on March 18 on Ardgill Place, Foveran.

He said: “A 10-year-old child was walking past the accused’s home address by herself when she could hear him shouting loudly.

‘It’s all bloody lies’

“She saw the accused at one of the windows and heard him shout in an aggressive manner ‘you can f*** off’ which left her scared and resulted in her running home.”

A neighbour also observed the incident and described Morrison as being “aggressive”.

Mr McMann went on: “The child’s mother went to the accused’s address a short time later to confront him.

“The accused opened the door and started to shout at the child’s mother.”

Morrison shouted “what the f*** are you doing out” towards a neighbour.

When the parties “tried to reason” with Morrison, he continued his foul-mouthed rant, warning: “I don’t care who the f*** you are. Bomb you’re f***ing house.”

This left both the mother and the neighbour feeling scared and police were contacted.

On being cautioned and charged, Morrison replied: “It’s all bloody lies.”

Accused ‘got very, very drunk’

Morrison pled guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

Defence agent Graham Morrison said his client was “a very drunk man” at the time of the incident.

He said: “When the child walks past he’s shouting and ranting about German cars that are parked in the street, about them being posh and all made in Germany.

“The girl’s mother comes came to the house and she also talks of him ranting about German cars.”

The solicitor explained Morrison’s father was “in the last few weeks of life”.

He said: “He spoke to him over the phone and became overcome by it all and got very, very drunk.”

Morrison’s address was given in court papers as Ardgill Place, Foveran, but his lawyer said he had since moved to Wellpark, Kemnay.

Sheriff Iain Nicol ordered Morrison to complete 60 hours of unpaid work.
