Holders East End came through a tough North Regional Cup opening round tie against Longside at New Advocates Park with Scott Kerr and Harry Woods on target in the 2-1 victory over the Championship side.

Ross Clark scored a hat-trick as Culter routed New Elgin 8-1 in Moray with Cammy Fraser, Nikolas Wozniak, Ryan Smart, Ryan Wallace and Callum Dunbar also finding the net.

Adam Joji (2) and Sam Muirhead were the Bridge of Don Thistle marksmen as they triumphed over Maud by the odd goal in five at Pleasure Park.

At Lochside Park, Joe Burr fired a double with Jack Craig and Paul Esslemont also on the scoresheet as Hermes proved too strong for Stonehaven.

At Heathryfold Sunnybank had Adam Reid (2) and Mike Taylor to thank for the goals in the 3-1 success over Glentanar.

Newmachar United’s Ryan Whelan was another to hit a treble, including two penalties, while Conor Watt also scored in the 4-2 victory against Banchory St Ternan at Milton Park where Murray Thompson and Olek Dlugusz notched the home side’s consolations.

A Charlie Rothnie brace and a Scott Milne counter gave Banks o’ Dee JFC a 3-1 win at Deveronside and Callum Duncan and Kyle Gordon were the Colony Park marksmen in the 2-0 success at The Meadows against Ellon United.

A spot kick from Keiran Thomson and goals from Blair Stephen and Jordan Reoch did the damage as Montrose Roselea won 3-1 at Forres Thistle.

Glen Donald, Lyall Keir and Gavin Byars (2) were on the mark as Dyce defeated Stoneywood Parkvale at Ian Mair Park.

Islavale won 3-0 at Buchanhaven Hearts while Burghead Thistle and Fraserburgh United both required a penalty shoot-out against Nairn St Ninian and Cruden Bay respectively after both matches had ended 2-2.
