North-east councillors have given their backing to a flood protection scheme worth around £1million.
The Buchan area committee met in Peterhead to consider a package of upgrades for Aberdeenshire’s waterways including in the north-east.
These include a £30,000 culvert replacement at Tillymaud and a new flood relief drain in Auchnagatt worth £15,000.
The committee welcomed the investment and unanimously backed the proposals. Councillors from across the region will be asked to give their support to the proposals.
