Plans have been put forward to build 256 homes and a park on the banks of the River Dee in Torry.
The Aberdeen Harbour Board has officially submitted a proposal of application notice to the city council for a major development on the land north of South Esplanade West.
The site, between Victoria Bridge and the Wellington Road Bridge, lies adjacent to the Aberdeen Boat Club and contains a number of businesses.
The proposal is part of the council’s City Centre Masterplan, a £1billion scheme to improve Aberdeen as a place to live, work and visit.
A spokesman from Norr, the agent and architect behind the Harbour Board’s application, said: “Aberdeen Harbour Board has submitted a proposal of application notice to Aberdeen City Council for redevelopment of existing industrial land uses at South Esplanade West.
“The proposal forms a part of the council’s City Centre Masterplan, and its vision for Torry Waterfront.
“This development will provide an exciting opportunity to create the first phase of a new riverside district and will provide a residential development and enhanced riverside park along the River Dee.
“The Harbour Board is undertaking a process of consultation on the proposed development with the local community.
“There will be an opportunity for the public to engage and view the proposals at a public event to be held on April 11 in the Torry Youth and Leisure Centre.
“An application for planning permission in principle will be submitted to the council after the consultation with the local community.”
The consultation will be held from 2pm to 8pm, and representatives from the design team will be present to answer questions regarding the proposal and take feedback.
