Bomb disposal experts were called to a north-east fishing village today after a relic from the Second World War washed ashore.
Police were called to the beach at Collieston at 9.29am and spent close to 12 hours at the scene.
The device was safely destroyed after 8.30pm, with dog walkers able to traverse the coastline with their pets shortly after.
Officers said there was no danger to the wider public at any point.
