Fire crews are working to extinguish an outdoor blaze near Banchory.
A large pile of logs caught fire just after 10pm near Tornaveen.
Currently four fire engines are at the scene and another two are on their way.
A water carrier is also in attendance.
It is not expected that the flames will spread further than the area of felled wood.
A fire service spokesman said: “There may be an issue with the water as there might not be a sufficient amount.”
