A north-east road was closed for several hours after a cyclist was involved in a serious accident.
Emergency services were called to the B9170 Inverurie to New Deer road, close to Cuminestown, on Saturday afternoon.

The cyclist is understood to have sustained serious and potentially life-threatening injuries while riding their pedal bike over a bridge.
However police were unable to confirm the extent of their injuries or whether another vehicle had been involved.
The road remained shut for several hours and was not re-opened until around 10.30pm.
