Two oil and gas services firms have had to up their charity fundraising target after smashing their initial goal.
Staff working for Team Energy and Intermoor in Aberdeen – both part of the same parent company – had set out to raise £15,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support this year.
But they have now set their sights on £20,000 after already raising more than £17,000.
The kind-hearted group hopes to make up the rest by hosting a festive afternoon tea on Saturday, November 9, at Hazlehead Park cafe.
So far 80 people are expected to attend with a number of pop-up stalls selling clothing and homewares.
Staff have already taken on the Beach Ballistic challenge, Great Aberdeen Run and Crathes half marathon to raise money.
They also organised a quiz night and yoga day.
Nicole Kennedy from Team Energy said: “We have organised various events and competed in a number of challenges throughout the year to raise as much money as possible for the amazing work that Macmillan do supporting cancer sufferers, their families, friends and colleagues.”
The sales and development manager took on five marathons in aid of Macmillan this year, raising more than £6,000 in running races in Barcelona, Paris, Edinburgh, Berlin and Dublin.
She added: “So many of us have been affected by cancer and lost loved ones, so any donation will still be greatly appreciated.”
