An Aberdeenshire brewery’s sanitiser has been cleared for use by NHS Grampian, after initial difficulties securing approval for use in clinical settings.
The Ellon-based brewing giants Brewdog last month decided to use its distillery to create santiser to help key workers deal with high-demand for the crucial hygiene product.
Earlier his week it was revealed that the brewery’s sanitiser was unable to be put into use at NHS Grampian sites including Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, because it did not meet certain medical requirements.
But now, Brewdog’s co-founder James Watt has confirmed that the new, 80% sanitiser has been officially ordered for use by NHS Grampian.
The brewery is donating the sanitiser to the NHS and other key workers completely for free.
A spokeswoman for NHS Grampian confirmed the sanitiser has now met all criteria for use by the health board.
After a huge collaborative effort with the amazing NHS, this 80% BrewDog Sanitiser is now approved & we have received an official order from NHS Grampian.
