Coastguard crews were called to helped a man injured on an Aberdeenshire beach yesterday.
The man fell and hurt his head on Portlethen beach and an ambulance was called at around 12.40pm.
Ambulance crews were unable to reach him and called for the coastguard to help stretcher him off the beach into the awaiting ambulance.
Coastguard teams from Aberdeen and Stonehaven were called to the area as well as the Scottish Ambulance Service and police.
A police spokesman said: “We received a call at 12.45pm after a man appeared to have been injured.
“It has appeared he has hit his head.
“He hasn’t suffered life-threatening injuries.”
