A north-east care worker accused of refusing to work with a patient who didn’t speak good English will face a watchdog hearing later this month.

Debbie Geddes, will appear before the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) accused of charges alleged to have taken place at her work at the Cranford Care Centre in Aberdeen.

It is claimed that on May 2 last year she said she would not be working with a patient because she was “new” “didn’t know anything” and “didn’t have good English.”

She is alleged to have failed to treat her colleague with dignity and caused the service user a risk of harm.

On March 1 the same year she is also accused of telling an agency worker not to clean up a patient who had been to the toilet and just to pull her trousers up instead.

On the same day she is accused of trying to move another patient off the toilet when they were not yet ready.

She is further alleged to have transferred a patient from a wheelchair to a chair without using a stand aid.

The charge also states on the same day she left an agency worker alone with a patient having been instructed not to do so.

The conduct is alleged to have been a failure to meet standards of practice required.

Ms Geddes will appear before the SSSC On Monday, October 17 in Dundee.
