The north and north-east is expected to be hit with heavy rain and thunderstorms for most of today.
The Met Office issued a yellow warning for the Grampian, Highland and islands regions.
It is in place from 12pm to 9pm.
Its chief forecaster’s statement reads: “Heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms will develop through the afternoon, before dying out slowly this evening.
“Although some places will remain dry, there is the potential for a few places to receive 20 mm of rain within an hour and very locally 30-40 mm in 2-3 hours.
