The redevelopment of an historic Aberdeen mansion will be allowed to proceed as long as the remaining trees in its grounds are afforded protection.
Kirkwood Homes applied for permission last August to build a new access point and two-storey detached garage at the C-listed Inchgarth House in Garthdee.
But the city council turned down the application as there were concerns the garage was too big and many mature trees would be lost.
The developer had already courted controversy by chopping down up to 200 trees without permission at the home. Some of those lost were more than 250 years old.
It applied for permission for those works, including the removal of dozens more trees, only after flattening an area of land for the access route.
Now a new plan has been tabled and approved.
Before work can begin, the firm must demonstrate all trees on the site will be protected during construction work.
The mansion house was originally built for Victorian Navy officer Lieutenant George Skene Taylor.
