Three men have gone on trial accused of plotting to murder another man with a Colt revolver for cash.
Warren Keating, 29, Darren Summers, 30, and Jeff Binnie, 24, allegedly conspired to kill Henry Stephen at various locations in Aberdeen.
They are accused of planning the attack between September and November 2016, in return for a “payment of sum of money”.
At the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday, the Crown told the jury that the trio acquired a Colt Model DA41 revolver and three ‘live’ .38 cartridges at an address on North Anderson Drive, as well as two mobile phones and four black tracksuits.
It is alleged the three then drove around the city, searching for Mr Stephen so they could shoot him.
Keating and Summers face further charges of robbing the Coral Bookmakers at Cornhill Shopping Arcade on October 27.
It is alleged the pair wore masks and brandished knives at employees Jade Williams and Craig Mackland, before fleeing with £2,800.
Binnie has also been charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin at a flat on North Anderson Drive between May 1 and November 24, 2016.
The three men also face charges of being in possession of cannabis at the same address on October 22 and 23, 2016.
The group deny all the charges against them. The trial, before judge Lady Scott, continues.
