Four teenagers have been charged for allegedly torching hundreds of hay bales at a north-east farm.
The fire was started at a site in St Cyrus on May 6 – 120 bales, with an estimated worth of £2,500, were destroyed.
Four 14-year-old boys have now been reported to the children’s reporter, accused of wilful fireraising.
PC Marc Camus from the Kincardine and Mearns Community Policing Team said: “I’d like to thank the community for their assistance and support with this investigation.
“Not only has this incident impacted on the farmer but could have had far more serious consequences.”
