A man has died following a crash on the racetrack of Alford’s Grampian Transport Museum.
Emergency services were called to the site at Montgarrie Road shortly before 11am.
An air ambulance was dispatched to the incident at the race track.
Police and fire were all called to the scene.
Two appliances from Alford and Banchory, with nine firefighters on board, were called to the museum at about 11am but left a short time later.
A road ambulance and a local doctor were also sent to the scene but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Inspector Stewart Drummond said: “Inquiries in conjunction with our partners are ongoing as we try to establish the full circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
“The man’s next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time.”
Police will remain at the scene into this evening while further inquiries are carried out.
An ambulance service spokesman said: “We received a call at 1051 hours today to attend an incident at the Grampian Transport Museum in Alford.
“We dispatched one ambulance, a local doctor and our helimed air ambulance to the scene.”
