A tourism group hopes Fraserburgh FC’s cup tie with Rangers will prove to be a major boost for the north-east town.
The Broch will meet the Glasgow giants in the Scottish Cup match in January.
The Highland League club have said the fourth round tie will go ahead at Bellslea Park, which has a capacity of 3,000.
Fraserburgh Area Tourism Group hopes one of the biggest matches in the town’s history will help showcase the area to visitors.
Chairwoman Lynda McGuigan said: “I am a Glasgow girl so I know the kind of hype that will be going on over a Rangers match.
“Hopefully we will get a lot of people coming up for it.
“We always want to promote Fraserburgh in a very positive way and some of our members are major businesses in the area.
“We have got the golf club, Cortes House, the Davron Hotel and we have a lot of little companies like the Museum of Scottish Lighthouses and the heritage centre.”
Ms McGuigan also wants travelling football fans to stay on in the port beyond the final whistle.
She said: “We would hope to encourage any visitors coming to Fraserburgh to stay for more than just the game.”
Fraserburgh chairman Finlay Noble said the club are “determined” to play the game at the football ground.
He said: “We are determined to keep the game at Belllsea Park as our supporters who follow us deserve to see the game played at our home ground.
“To have Rangers here at Bellslea in a competitive fixture is great for everyone connected with the club but more importantly it’s fantastic for the town.
“We will be looking into ways on how we can increase the capacity so will be liaising with the police and the council.”
Fraserburgh will host Rangers on the weekend of January 20.
