People have been urged to share their memories and mementos of a historic north-east building.
Stonehaven’s Beach Pavilion was officially opened 90 years ago on June 16.
Once home to a variety of music, dancing and comedy, the building is now the base for the town’s Men’s Shed.
The group launched last October, and members had planned to host a celebration on June 16 to mark 90 years since the building opened.
More recently, the Stonehaven’s Men’s Shed raised £85,000 to renovate the building – which had stopped being an entertainment venue for some time.
While physical celebrations are unlikely to take place, anyone with old photographs, memories or mementos from the pavilion’s history has been urged to get in touch with the group ahead of the anniversary.
Stonehaven Men’s Shed trustee Duncan Cursiter said: “The Men’s Shed ethos is all about improving mental and physical health of men in the community by giving them a new purpose in life after retirement or after bereavement.
“During lockdown, the benefits of a men’s shed organisation for Stonehaven have been particularly apparent in that the members have set up a What’s App group for daily communication.”
When the pavilion opened in 1930, it cost £950.
