Groups in Aberdeenshire have banded together to deliver afternoon teas to fight loneliness in the community.
Dozens of volunteers have formed the Westhill Community Resilience Support Group to deliver hot drinks, food and company to 190 people who were shielding or otherwise isolated at home.
The partnership includes the Skene Parish Church, Westhill Senior Citizens Club, Westhill Community Church and the local rotary club and community council.
Other response efforts have also included delivering shortbread to sheltered accommodation, with plans to deliver an afternoon tea to a care home.
Rev Stella Campbell, who is the minister at Skene, said the idea had been inspired by a similar project in Banff.
She said: “We identified people who we thought would be isolated or shielding then we got in touch asking if they would be happy to receive a gift.
“We’ll do something for Christmas too – we’ve been able to put in funding.”
