A north-east school will celebrate the New Year with top marks after an inspection report rated it one of the best in the region.
The Care Inspectorate reviewed the nursery facility at Fyvie earlier this year and has this week unveiled its report on the service, branding it “very good” across the board.
The rating is the highest that the inspectorate can award a pre-school.
Going forward, the Care Inspectorate has suggested that the nursery continues to maintain the quality of learning opportunities available to children.
It said: “The service provided a high quality environment for children to grow and learn.
“The outdoor area provided a setting for free play with activities mirroring playroom learning.
“The interactions between staff and children were friendly and nurturing which created a positive and stimulating learning environment. We spoke with eight children and all of them told us that they enjoyed coming to the service.”
The inspectorate praised staff for being “well trained” and “very enthusiastic”.
As part of the service’s review, opinions from parents involved with the school were also sought.
One, whose children attend the nursery, said: “I have three children with one in the morning session and two in the afternoon session.
“I cannot sing the praises enough for all staff involved. The staff have worked with me to help the children thrive and the nursery experience has been invaluable.”
Another added that the building always had a “pleasant, happy atmosphere”.
“A lovely welcoming service,” they said.
Eight of the nursery’s children were interviewed during the review.
All said they enjoyed attending the service.
Fyvie was last reviewed by the Care Inspectorate in January 2015, when it was given a rating of “good”.
