Detailed plans for the £745million Aberdeen bypass will go on display to the public from next week.
The consultation follows the appointment earlier this month of Connect Roads as the preferred bidder for the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route project.
After decades in the planning stages, work is finally expected to start on the new dual carriageway in the autumn, and could be completed before 2018.
The Scottish Government said the exhibition would include details of the 28-mile route, the scheme’s wider benefits, progress on the preparations for construction work, and measures to minimise its environmental impact.
The two-week exhibition will open on Monday at the Thistle Hotel in Altens, between midday-7pm.
It will move to Westhill’s Holiday Inn on Tuesday, the New Inn in Ellon on Wednesday, Culter Village Hall on Thursday, then the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on Friday.
It will be at the Music Hall on Monday, June 30, then Maryculter’s Old Mill Inn on July 1, the Newmachar Hotel on the Wednesday, Stonehaven Recreation Grounds Club on Thursday, July 3, and Dyce Community Centre on the Friday.
Transport Minister Keith Brown said: “Earlier this month, we announced that Connect Roads had been appointed as preferred bidder for the AWPR project.
“This is great news for the people of the north-east and a very timely reminder that this road is coming, and soon.
“These exhibitions will give people a chance to remind themselves of the plans we have for the road and find out what it will mean for them.
“From bringing in an additional £6billion to the local economy and generating around 900 construction jobs, to improving safety and cutting congestion – the benefits of this project are very substantial.
“As the project is now in its final stages prior to general construction, I would encourage communities and road users to take the opportunity to visit these exhibitions and remind themselves of the plans for this project.”
Members of the project team will be available at the exhibitions to answer questions.
