REGIONAL BREAKDOWN: 11 new coronavirus cases across Scotland

No new cases of Covid-19 has been recorded in the north or north-east in the past 24 hours.

The latest figures from the Scottish Government show there have been 18,384 positive cases across the country since the pandemic began – an increase of 11 since yesterday.

A total of 310,644 people in Scotland have been tested through NHS Scotland labs and UK Government Labs to date. Of these, 292,260 were confirmed negative.

Of the people who have tested positive, 320 were in hospital last night and three of whom were in intensive care. There are a further three people in intensive care with suspected Covid-19.

Since March 5, 4,138 inpatients have been discharged from hospital.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced at her daily briefing today a further person has died after testing positive for the virus.

Scotland’s death toll is now 2,491.

Coronavirus in Scotland – track the spread in these charts and maps

A regional breakdown of the figures shows there has been no new cases recorded in the Grampian area in the past 24 hours. The region’s total number of positive cases sits at 1,432 and 29 people with coronavirus are in hospital.

There have been no new cases in the Highlands and islands.

The Highlands’ total remains at 377, 54 for Shetland, nine on Orkney and seven in the Western Isles.
