The call came in at around 7.45am, to a ground floor flat on John Street in Aberdeen.
Fire services sent three appliances to the blaze, successfully quelling the flames shortly after 8am.
One person was injured in the incident and treated by an ambulance unit.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said:
“We sent 15 firefighters to the Aberdeen flat, and used one hose reel jet and four breathing apparatus.
“The fire was out by 8.07am and we left the scene at 8.22am.
“One person was taken into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.”
