Blunder keeps Dons in top-six hunt

Aberdeen’s slim hopes of a top-six SPL finish linger on after an incredible blunder by the match officials during yesterday’s Edinburgh derby between Hibs and Hearts at Easter Road.

The match finished goalless – meaning sixth-placed Hibs have just a two-point lead on the ninth-placed Dons with three matches remaining before the split.

But Hibs were denied a winner when Leigh Griffiths’s free kick bounced off the crossbar and over the line.
