Industry peers have named Alison Sellar, founder and chief executive of Aberdeen firm activpayroll, among the top 50 top professionals in her sector globally.

The list, revealed in London, celebrates and honours people who have made a big difference in the industry over the past year.

It is the fourth consecutive year that Mrs Sellar has featured on the annual “Who’s Who” of the payroll world.

Since the launch of activpayroll in 2001, Mrs Sellar has built the business organically from servicing small, local customers to global corporations.

In the past year, her efforts to grow the business have been reflected in accolades including international payroll provider of the year at the Payroll and Pensions Excellence Awards and businesswoman of the year at the Scottish Business Awards.

Celebrating her latest triumph, she said: “I am extremely honoured to receive this recognition for the fourth year in a row.

“When starting activpayroll our aim was to improve and innovate the way global payroll is delivered, and we’re achieving this.

“We will continue to make our mark in the industry by launching new products and services that have the potential to influence the current marketplace and positively impact the broader business sector.”

Activpayroll manages the payroll operations of more than 1,000 clients in 120-plus countries, ranging from sole traders to global corporations and investment banks with international workforces.
